Hello, my name is Joyce Bamburg.
I was born and raised in Southern California until I was 25 and then moved here to Oregon. It certainly has been a wonderful life living here in the Northwest.
I have been in the beauty industry for over 50 yrs. I attended Beauty College in California and still hold a current license there as well as here in Oregon. I currnetly live in Lake Havasu Arizona, and travel back to Oregon frequently to work.
I have two wonderful sons both whom are grown & married. I have four beautiful grandchildren.
Being involved in the beauty industry I have studied every facet of the business. In 1989, I had the opportunity to take a basic class in Permanent make up. I must say it was the best decision I ever made. In 1990, I opened “Beauty Is Skin Deep” I was fortunate enough to work for a very busy Ophthalmologist in Gresham. With having a back ground in teaching beauty college and knowing facial structure I seemed to have found my niche in life as far as my career was concerned. I was involved at the ground level with being on many committees when Oregon went under regulation in 1993. With owning one of Oregon’s largest permanent cosmetic schools, it was a time consuming profession. We as trainers for the state are required to attend continued education classes. It is a never ending effort in our practice.
As a state trainer, I have traveled to many US states and taught advanced classes in Camouflage makeup, Color correction and I specialize in Permanent make up repair. Unfortunately most states are not regulated and technicians from surrounding states can take a two day class and perform these procedures. I feel so fortunate holding a License in Oregon as we have the highest standards in tattooing history. At this time we are not teaching school anymore.
